The Memorial Club is blessed with having as it’s President, Brian Caveney - the President of the growing Mobberley Dominoes League.
Brian is such an established part of the dominoes scene that he has been given the prestigious honour of having the league Pairs trophy / competition named after him.
The club itself has two teams entered into the Mobberley league with the teams playing their matches on Wednesday nights in a season running from September to April and matches taking under 2 hours on average.
The Brian Caveney Pairs is run over three Monday evenings during February and March of each season
and - possibly due to the prize money on offer - always attracts a full compliment of thirty-two pairs of players from the different clubs within the Mobberley Dominoes League.
The game of dominoes is often seen as an old person’s game but it is a deceptively skillful pastime where the level and player ability is easily worked out by the established ones to often ruthless effect!
Many players would feel equally at home on ‘Bob’s Memory Masters’ as they do on the doms table and to finish off a great social evening, the home team for each match voluntarily provides sandwiches for both teams at the end of each 2 hour match.
